Circus as a social and psychological experiment? Paul Levy talked with Lennart Parr about a very unique circus show at the Fringe, InThisTogether.
“This is an experiment. We have intentions, but just like you we don’t exactly know what is going to happen.”
“InThisTogether is a participative circus show that relies on the audience in order to happen at all. If you choose to be involved, you will experience the trust, focus and joy that is so intrinsic to circus. And yes, you will share some of the risk and responsibility, too.
“While two of the performers dance, tumble and defy gravity, the third artists provides life electronic music to guide the experience. By inviting spectators to step into the roles of co-creators, the event challenges conventional boundaries and forges a collective journey, offering an engaging exploration of trust and collaborative creation within a circus framework. It starts with a choice, do you participate or watch it unfold?”
