Abnormally Funny People celebrate 20 years since their first show at the Fringe

Abnormally Funny People (AFP on the tee shirts and baseball caps) promises stand-up, stories and sketches, Improvisation and music with famous people and brilliant emerging talent. Disability comedy at its best.

They are celebrating 20 years since AFP was created and first brought a show to the Fringe. Kate Saffin got to sit down with producers Simon Minty and Steve Best plus deaf comedian Steve Gray. The plan had been to include Liz Carr, also on the bill for three shows, but the trains weren’t having it. Thankfully she arrived in time for the show and talked to Kate after it, her interview is here.

They share the background to creating AFP, the ways it has developed and how comedy by disabled people has grown over the 20 years.
