Life Stories: Frances Mercanti-Anthony on Edfringe solo show Frances Floats

Frances Floats is a one-person theatre piece written and performed by Frances Mercanti-Anthony, a Broadway actor, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025. The story follows her move from suburban New Jersey to a small coastal town in Maine after falling in love at 40 with a man from the area. It traces her shift from city living to motherhood and middle age, touching on ideas of self-acceptance and contentment that are independent of appearance or size. The narrative incorporates humour, frank language, and personal anecdotes.

The production takes place at Gilded Balloon at Appleton Tower from July 30 to August 25, 2025. It combines spoken storytelling with selected images that underscore her experiences. Mercanti-Anthony is both the creator and performer, presenting her account of finding a new phase of life shaped by love, change, and personal discovery.
