Each year at the Edinburgh Fringe, actor and director David Calvitto chats to FringeReview. The podcasts seem to get longer each year, as the actor and interviewer get older. In conversation with Paul Levy, David talks about his arrival into acting, his experiencesat the Fringe and elsewhere, and he asserts once again that he will die as an actor. Paul is not convinced.
The interview, in the Library Bar at Gilded Balloon begins with no speaking from either party, just the noises of the bar. And then David says accusingly “What?” And then the rollercoaster conversation begins. Many insights into Fringe and the life of an actor ensue.
David Calvitto is the director of Tom Clancy’s The Event at this year’s Fringe. He is also an actor in 11½ Angry Men, directed by Guy Masterson, written by Owen O’Neil.
The conversation is in two parts.
