This year’s Fringe production from NVT is Parlour Song by Jez Butterworth
”My stuff. My possessions… they’re disappearing”. New Venture Theatre’s production of ‘Parlour Song’ directed by Claire Lewis, runs from 15th to 30th May 2015.
Here’s what it is about: Demolition expert Ned lives in a nice new house on a nice new estate with his wife of 11 years. He loves his job. Barbeques. Car-boot sales. Outwardly his life is entirely unremarkable. Not unlike his friend and neighbour Dale.
So why has he not slept a wink in six months? Why is he so terrified of his attractive wife Joy? And why is it every time he leaves on business, something else goes missing from his home? Is his mind playing tricks on him, or is the ground really shifting beneath his feet?
Parlour Song is billed as "a black, hilarious exploration of deceit, paranoia and murderous desire, as the spirit of the Blues lands in leafy suburbia". It is written by Jez Butterworth, the Olivier Award-winning playwright of Jerusalem.
The play runs from 15th – 30th May 2015, starts 7.45pm.
Matinee: Sun 17th and 24th May at 2.30pm.
There is no evening performance on Sundays and Mondays.
Tickets for the show are available – £10 and can be purchased online at www.newventure.org.uk or at the Fringe Box Office. For further details phone NVT Box Office Information on 01273 746118
