Edinburgh Fringe Exhibition Focus: Richard Byrne Viv MacKinnon and the Worst Record Covers in the World

The Edinburgh Fringe also hosts exhibitions. Not everyone knows that. Paul Levy spoke to Richard Byrne, withcomment from Viv MacKinnon (who was knitting throughout the chat) about Worst Record Covers in the World, an exhibition of Steve Goldman’s unique collection on show at the Studios Bar at Assembly George Square Studios throughout the Fringe.

“A collection of dreadful record sleeves that makes people giggle, guffaw and double up laughing everywhere it goes. It’s been a huge success at galleries, museums, and comedy and music festivals. Featured on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row and Have I Got News For You. ‘Defining an as yet uncategorised new substrata of folk art’ (Stewart Lee). ‘The room is full of people howling with laughter – it’s great’ (Mark Radcliffe). No booking or ticket required: this is a drop-in exhibition located in the Studio Bar, open from 10am – 5am daily.”
