The Invitation

Have too many artists in our city sold their souls to the market? Is there anything wrong with that? Do our public organisations – councils, funders, sponsors, venues act with integrity and honesty in relation to artists and their creativity in the city of Brighton and Hove? Is competition the best way for artists to create valuable and important work across the city? Do our festivals around the year support artists in the right way? What needs to happen? How do we bring more integrity and honesty in the arts in Brighton.

Come along if you are restless to explore these questions. Over 90 minutes we will make use of Open Space Technology as a format for meeting and conversing.

Co-hosted by Brighton Spiegeltent who offer us their venue as an alternative “city hall” and FringeReview, an arts publication born in Brighton in 2006, we’ll try to reach some share-able outcomes and conclusions, calls to action and further questions and challenges.

Do join us. It’s free.
