Brighton Fringe Comedy Preview: A Multimedia Comedy Hour

Here is the lowdown on an eclectic comedy hour: “Sameera’s mum was ever so proud when she graduated with a degree in Economics from Cambridge. Less so when she went to clown school. Now Sameera needs to find a job.”

One place you might not expect to find out about a comedy performer is on Linkedin! On LinkedIn, Sameera is a “changemaker, global innovator and value-driven impact leader.” But in life, “she has no idea What Is Going On.”

Sameera Bhalotra Bowers is a 22-year-old British Indian Canadian comedian, writer, and performer bringing her debut show What Is Going On? to Brighton Fringe 2026. A Cambridge Economics graduate and 2025 Cambridge Footlights member, she trained at École Philippe Gaulier clown school. Fresh from sell-out Cambridge and Camden runs, plus Edinburgh acclaim for “genius” timing, her multimedia hour blends stand-up, puppetry, and absurdity on family, jobs, and spherical cows.

In this multimedia comedy hour, Sameera searches for clarity through psychic guidance, grapples with the science of perfectly spherical cows, plots her rise as the leader of an Indian tutoring empire and wants to make her grandma proud. If all else fails, she plans to become the first 22-year-old living in an old-age nursing home.

More aboutbout Sameera

Sameera is currently a semi-finalist in the ongoing 2026 West End New Act of The Year stand up competition. Her friends describe her comedy persona as ‘earnestly ridiculous’ and ‘sincerely absurd.’
