“Art is about asking questions.” says co-creator Lee Apsey. “Questions like: ‘Why are we doing this?’ To which I’d have to say an absurd soup of hubris, satire, and a deep belief in the comedic power of schadenfreude.”
SadoMusial returns to Britain off of a successful run at the New Zealand and Dunedin Fringe Festival’s, a tour that nominated the duo for multiple awards including “Most Innovative Show” from the NZ Fringe Festival. But it’s not just the show that’s pushing the boundaries of “art,” their growing fandom is just as diverse. “Both your grandmother and the leather daddy (turns out they’re best friends) can agree that the show is indeed painful and brilliantly entertaining,” says yours truly at FringeReview.
SadoMusical is created by British theatre and filmmaker Lee Apsey, award-winning co-creator of multiple Edinburgh Fringe sell-out hit ‘CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation,’ and Jayda Fogel, Canadian poet and international theatre creator based in Amsterdam, whose work has been performed in more than 12 countries to sold-out audiences.
