Turan Ali

Turan Ali has been producing, directing and writing drama, comedy and documentaries for BBC since 1990, originally as a BBC staff producer and more recently through his own production company Bona Broadcasting Ltd. He is also an international consultant and trainer to commercial and state broadcasters, NGOs and media professionals in story theory, drama production and media for attitude change. In recent years he has been performing as a queer storyteller and stand up; 2019/20 international tour of his one man show of outrageously true gay stories, Don't Frighten the Straights! ; since 2021 his regular storytelling shows have been selling out monthly TRUE STORY NIGHTS (Vienna's Volkstheater) and bi-monthly QUEER FOLKS' TALES (Scottish Storytelling Centre Edinburgh) both running to end of 2024.
