Yngvild Aspeli talks about her company Plexus Polaire, its focus and the World premiere of A Doll’s House with Jo Tomalin

Yngvild Aspeli performs in Maison de Poupée – and directs it with Paola Rizza. This production is based on Ibsen’s well-known play, A Doll’s House, which premiered at the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes (FMTM), Charleville-Mézières, France in September 2023 and is co-produced by FMTM.

“This is a Doll’s House that shakes. It shatters and releases old spectres. Director Yngvild Aspeli wanted it that way. Because one day the shock of a bird at her window resonated within her. Because Henrik Ibsen’s play of the same name was placed in her hands, and her character, Nora, a wife and mother who wants to leave everything behind, bangs her head against the invisible glass surface of her own existence.”
