Donald talked to Simon Weir.
It’s always an immense pleasure to catch up with one of the most enthusiastic theatre makers in Scotland and Simon never disappoints. Following his hit tour of The Benny Lynch Story I caught up with him for over an hour of hearing about the process and the pitfalls if theatre making for the the of audience most of us would crawl over broken glass to get through the doors. In the pastoral calm of where Benny Lynch fought 5 times, Simon’s own grandfather played on the hallowed turf and Simon himself has been central to the regeneration and development of an iconic Glasgow venue here is a snippet of his journey, experience and hope for the future of the play. Be aware some swearing was used as well as fascinating insights and enthusiastic thespianism. You can keep up to date with all the plans here – https://www.facebook.com/CathkinParkLimited/
