Paul Levy talks to Sam Rush from the Brighton Spiegeltent. Sam tells Paul Levy about the two unique, beautiful venues – The Spiegeltent and the Bosco, both home to a wide variety of shows at this year’s Brighton Fringe.
“Our Spiegeltent was built around 1920 and comes to us from Belgium. It’s a circular wooden performance tent with booths and pillars around the outside that are great for a fun night out but can be tricky for sightlines. We have a great sound and lighting package. With a central rigging point we often play in three-quarters round and/or with a thrust stage. Red velvet, vintage mahogany and a century of grease paint, sweat and rouge make this a memorable venue! We love it.”
