In this short video, Paul Levy from FringeReview wishes you all an enjoyable and fulfilling Edinburgh Fringe 2025. Whether you are a performer or a punter, the FringeReview team hope you make the most of every moment here at the world’s largest arts festival…
To get the most out of the Edinburgh Fringe 2025, go in with a plan but leave room for surprise. If you are a punter, avoid relying on big names or star ratings. Walk into shows that are unlisted, in small venues, or recommended by people in queues. Carry cash. Wear decent shoes. Drink water. Take breaks. Avoid burnout. Use the official app, but trust your instincts more. Speak to performers flyering on the Royal Mile. Ask them questions. Look at their eyes. If they believe in what they are doing, that is usually a good sign.
If you are a performer, accept that flyering is part of the job. Turn up early. Treat tech staff and venue teams with respect. Do not obsess over reviews. Talk to your audience after the show. Build relationships, not reputations. Be visible without being desperate. See other shows. Offer support and receive it. Be honest about ticket sales but do not let them define your experience. Take care of your body and your mind. The Fringe is not a career step. It is a shared, chaotic, creative field. If you value the moment, listen closely and give your best, you will come away with something real.
