The Scottish News Bugle Announces New Fringe Award

PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT

The Scottish News Bugle has announced a brand new award for the Edinburgh Fringe. According to its press release, the new award is designed to reflect more accurately trends at the world’s largest arts festival.

Known as the Fringe Third, the award is only eligible for companies and performers who are returning to the Fringe with the same show for at least the third time. According to the SNB, “This represents a significantly increasing number of shows at the Fringe and we estimate that in 2019, over 93% of the Fringe were shows bringing the same old shit back for at least the third time with over 32% bringing shows back for the tenth time or more.”

The first list of nominations include:

“1978 – The Musical”

“The Day we nearly beat Manchester United – (An Immersive Aerial Piece performed in Canongate Kirk Graveyard)

“Eddie McFunny – the standup show part 12”

“The One Man Logan’s Run”

“Gone with the Wind for Breakfast (including free flapjack square)”

Winners will be announced this coming Friday with the winner receiving a crystal trophy of a cow being milked.
