Monologues from the bedroom, or the kitchen, or the hall: Kate Saffin talks to Brian Lonsdale about Coronavirus Theatre Club

You can’t keep actors down. Close the theatres and they just switch their webcams on! Coronavirus Theatre Club is bringing socially distanced new writing via Twitter every Sunday evening at 7pm.

Brian shares the story of how it all started with a tweet… and before they knew it he and Sam Neale were running a regular new writing night with each monologue getting between 800 and 6000 views.

Brian and Sam review the submitted scripts, make their choice and assign an actor and director who have about a week to prepare the piece. The actor does the initial stream which is retweeted by @ClubCoronavirus and then goes on to YouTube two or three days after the live stream.
